We want to ensure that all LHA residents have the opportunity to get involved. This helps us to get the right outcomes for residents: excellent services; value for money; and increased accountability. We’re committed to taking action to positively promote, encourage and support resident involvement.
We want to hear about the issues that concern you and we welcome your suggestions for changes and improvements. You know your community! With your support we can work together to improve the quality of life for our residents and their neighbourhoods.
You can choose the level of involvement that suits you – whether it’s being kept informed, getting active on a particular local issue, responding to consultations, joining a residents’ association, becoming a resident representative, a tenant inspector or joining one of our consultation groups. You may decide to represent a group of households in your area and put yourself forward for election to one of our regional Consumer Advisory Panels or apply to become a Board member.
We provide free training, and pay all out of pocket expenses. Residents who have got involved have found it can help them increase their confidence and develop their skills. It can be a great way to meet others, and a stepping stone to other opportunities.
To find out more about getting involved speak to your Neighbourhood Officer or call us on: 08453 891777.
