We are required by law to carry out an annual gas safety check on all gas appliances and flues in your home. You’ll then be given a valid gas safety record to sign.
It’s very important you allow our engineer access to carry out this check each year, which is for your benefit, safety and well-being.
If we can’t get in we will need to take legal action to gain access, and you would be charged for the cost involved. We don’t want this to happen, so please ensure you are available to let the engineer in.

· Central heating boilers
· Gas fires and other types of space heating
· Multi point water heaters
· Gas hobs (safety check)
· Gas cooker (visual check for safety)
We have a service contract with Thorpete Associates that covers:
- Annual service and safety check of domestic gas appliances
- Breakdown cover of all domestic gas fired central heating systems
- Visual inspection of gas cookers
Problems with heating

Suspected gas leak
If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak:
- Call Transco on 0800 111 999
- Open all doors and windows
- Turn off the gas meter
- Avoid using any electrical appliances, switches or sockets
