 Nuisance Neighbours

How to deal with Neighbour Nuisance or Harassment

If you experience problems with your neighbours we always recommend that you try to have a “friendly” word with your neighbour in the first instance; it may be that they are unaware or the distress that they are causing.

If noise or pets cause the problem and the problem persists you should contact the local Environmental Health Officer.

Environmental Health Officers have powers to deal specifically with noise nuisance and can in some cases take action on your behalf.

The Customer Contact Centre will be able to provide the telephone number of you Environmental Health Department.

More serious forms of nuisance should be reported to the Police, for example harassment or other forms of antisocial behaviour.
