Our projects

PlansCase study 1: Station Street, South Wigston, Leicestershire

This ambitious £5million mixed tenure scheme is redeveloping the site of a large factory and part of a local authority car park to create 41 homes.

  • 21 apartments will be for Newbuild Homebuy, allowing people to buy 50% or more of their home
  • 15 apartments and studios will be offered for outright sale
  • Five two-bedroom homes will be available for rent

The scheme, which will be completed early next year, has been jointly funded by Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, the Housing Corporation and LHA-ASRA.

Case study 2: Great Park Street, Wellingborough

The £4m scheme will feature 37 flats, with 16 for rent, 11 for shared ownership and 10 for sale.

Supported by the Housing Corporation, it will be the town’s first truly mixed tenure development.  As well as meeting housing demand locally, it will give people the opportunity to buy their own home in an affordable way.

“Shared ownership has helped us get a foot on the property ladder without being overstretched financially. We were living in rented accommodation before so it’s really good to know we’re now some way towards owning our own property.”

Marcus Freer, LHA shared owner, Tungston Way, Market Harborough

Case study 3: Stonebridge Park, Nottingham

We are proud to have been selected by Nottingham City Council as lead partner in redeveloping the Stonebridge estate – one of the largest regeneration initiatives in the city in decades.

The £45m programme of demolition, refurbishment, new build and environmental enhancement, will create a modern, sustainable, mixed tenure neighbourhood.

Around 70% of the homes will be for outright sale, complemented by housing for shared ownership and rent.

Residents overwhelmingly support our proposals, which include remodelled open spaces and traffic-calming home zones.

Case study 4: Cropthorne Avenue, Leicester

In partnership with Leicester City Council, we are giving a boost to families in Leicester who need larger affordable homes.

Work is underway on two developments in Evington, at Avonside Drive and Cropthorne Avenue, on under-utilised car parks.

Four large family houses will be built (two on each site) to house families of up to six people.

The Leicester City Council Housing Strategy Report identified an acute shortage of large four-bedroom homes for social rent. Fifty-six per cent of the city’s housing need is for four-bedroom properties.

The new homes are expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
